some good news. Came back through immigration on Wednesday night, and Global Entry now has face recognition (which I assume they are testing since they only had one machine). Walked up and picture was taken while I was still walking, officer 20 feet away said "Mr Smith welcome home". That was it. Maybe just maybe we will finally be on par with entry procedures which are now standard in other parts of the world (London and Mexico City are two I've recently been to that have this system).

Had the same experience Monday night around 8pm. I barely came to a stop and it found me, lit up green and then started walking towards officer and he asked Mr. Ag you have anything to declare and I said no, and got the welcome home and walking right by.

No. I had to pay the regular parking garage fee AND the $215 tow fee at eco park Saturday night after 10pm to get the car out. If my wife was not with me, I would probably have gone to jail. Everyone at the airport that night was very nice trying to find out what had happened to our car. But the employees we dealt with at eco park were straight up Feral. We spent about 30 minutes there while they called trying to find out what fees to charge.
They had towed her car and all the others to the eco park lot on JFK.

I hate eco park with a passion. Reading your story, I can feel my blood pressure going up.

Side note - I wonder if any of the cars they towed were damaged because they weren't towed correctly (ie, RWD and AWD vehicles). Or just because of carelessness (dents and dings).

there is not a lawyer worth his salt who will charge you less than the tow fee. There are times for lawyers, but $215 fee isn't one of them.

I had not considered the possible damage from towing. It is Awd. 23 Lexus gx 460 but I'm not sure what the proper towing other than a roll off would be. Without opening the door and putting it in neutral, I don't see how they could get that many vehicles out of the garage properly.

So strange the city of Houston doesn't get answers for the city Airport and refers all questions to the parking contractor SP+. They still haven't returned my Monday Email. No excuses for these Ass Clowns.

They definitely have cameras throughout the garages and HAD to know the 7th floor was open with green lights when we parked there Tuesday 2-11.

Yeah, flatbed tow for certain vehicles. At a minimum, I'd want to know that it was towed correctly (or not).

I'm guessing to get down ramp they would almost have to flatbed tow or put it on rollers somehow as the garage clearance is only 6'-8".

Put in a FOIA quick as they don't keep footage long.

There's not a dedicated garage for E. C/D/E is just one big garage.

earlier this week, the C precheck line went all the way back to the "entrance" where the sign is for precheck.

it took all of 9 minutes to get through the security and then 10 to get to my gate at B.

I fly about every 2 weeks, typically go through C and I'm pleasantly surprised by how fast the precheck line usually moves for me. In early January, I was on a 9am flight and the precheck line went to the sign, plus another 20ish people. It took maybe 15 minutes to get through security that morning.

Conversely, I was on a 4pm flight earlier this week and there were only 3 people in front of me at Precheck in C.

Just went through E security. Still working out kinks…. 40 people in precheck. Took right at 22 min with one lane open. Hold up was the TSA guy on the xray with the new automatic tray machines

The new x-ray machines are significantly slower than the old kind (at all airports)

At FLL last month she was sorting out every other bag. The travel work bag I take everywhere and had never been pulled got pulled. Was about a 15 minute wait because there were so many pulled.

I maintain that the new machines have purposely NOT been installed in some airports (e.g. IAH terminal C) because they don't have the space to put 2-3x the machines. The airport security lines that have all new machines (I go through TUL and SLC very frequently) are waaayyyyyy slower than the old machines in places like IAH terminal C and EWR.

No idea if the new tech is more effective than the old tech, but the speed at which the reviewer (person in the chair) processes images is at least half, maybe a third, of the pace of the former machines.

Even with the old machines, the throughput of bags is almost completely reflective of the image reviewer's pace.
