I think Terminal A will continue to rot after this, because United likely won't need it anymore. They may get a few added restrooms but really not a lot you can do there, and since united owns all the other domestic gates there is no where to move people to. I think you see a Terminal F next for the Domestic non United flights but I don't think it is connected to the rest of the airport, which is a waste with the central processor and checked baggage buildings they just put in, but Sylvester Turner only cared about grifting off the taxpayers saving money.

Glad i flew out this AM. Lounges still packed. Terminal C Security had multiple out of order signs on the security photo camera for ID check. Terminal A parking wouldnt read my reserved bar code. So all in all, a normal cluster F at IAH.

Did you put in the wrong license plate number? You shouldn't even have to use the bar code anymore, it just reads your plate.

The plate readers have been 40/60 for me. One time it worked perfectly. Another it didn't work entering or leaving. Most recently it didn't work to enter but did work leaving. Still an improvement from the old machines.

Wow. What a day yesterday. Flew out on a 10:00 am flight to McAllen. My return flight was to be around 5:00. Yeah, as soon as I got the notification of the first delay that came out at 3:30, I just kept the rental car after a brief convo with them and started driving. The last time I checked on that flight, it was to depart McAllen at 12:40 am. I made the right call to drive, even though it was a long day.

Got to the IAH rental car center at 9:30 and back on the road from my A/B parking space by 10:00. Home in CS just before 11:30.

Airport was a zoo but I was the only one on the bus going to the terminal so it went fast. I used the QR code saved in my wallet for when I left. It was a breeze while others were struggling to figure out how to pay.

What's the scoop on the license plate readers? I was in a car that had paper tags (not a Tine endorsed Malibu or Altima...) so I didn't use the correct plate number when I made the reservation.

Picking up my elderly parents tomorrow afternoon upon their exit from customs and immigration. I will
Need to park to help them. In the past, I've parked in A/B and used to basement tram to get there. It's also an easy airport exit from there.

What about the C/D garage? I've not parked there in years so I don't remember what it's like to get in and out of. Any help there would be greatly appreciated.

Airport website shows all IAH garages about 60% full. Not sure how it will be tomorrow. I haven't had any issues leaving the garages.

Parked in the C/D garage. Took the driveway to the side closest to the international arrivals. Worked out great. No traffic in, no traffic out. Paid $5 to park.

Parked in the c garage this morning around 5:45. The friggin button to print a ticket wasn't working at the entrance kiosk so I had to back up like a lunatic and switch over to the other kiosk. Thank god it wasn't too busy.

arrived last night into C and retrieved bags then caught the shuttle to the off-sight parking. Honestly one of the easiest and seamless trips ever. Maybe they finally have their act together. Only line was trying to check out of the lot. Only three payment machine lines working and we got behind a guy who was the reservation line and didn't have one, so we had to all back up so he could get out. Otherwise, it was fine.
What do you boys want for breakfast BBQ ?.....OK Chili.

Was also at C last night (around 9 pm). It was busy, but there were 3 or 4 ecopark buses lined up when we got there, so we really didn't have to wait. Only odd thing was the driver of the last ecopark bus in line opened the doors so the people at the end of the line were able to board. Usually they don't do this and wait until they can pull to the front of the line. Fortunately, there were enough buses for everyone, otherwise the people in the middle of the line may have been grumpy about it.

Had the same scenario at the ecopark exit stalls, except it was because the machine wouldn't accept one car's ticket (rather than a reservation issue). So we all had to back up to let that car move to lane 1.

There is no excuse for only having 3/8 lanes open to pay, and they really need to get those machines fixed/upgraded. They malfunction pretty much every time we park there.

How bad do we think IAH is going to be when REAL ID requirements drop on wednesday? I got a flight out Wednesday morning and just last week started getting texts about the REAL ID. I'm good as I got my license renewed awhile back with the Star of David on it.

Wondering if I should just get there tomorrow night...

I believe so yes. I got a new license in 2020 so at least 5 years for sure.

Reddit has me sketched out but its like an echo chamber of idiots over there so trying to take everything I read with a grain of salt.

My current license was issued in 22 but I have my old one in my bag in case I ever lose my wallet or ID while traveling and it was issued in 16 and I think it might be compliant as well. Has a gold star in top right corner.

I don't think ANYONE in Texas with a valid DL doesn't already have a Real ID. Congress passed it in 2005 with original planned implementation in 2008!

Fair, but I was out of D/E security today. Could've been a ****show.

But TSA-Pre was zero wait. *******s took a butane torch lighter I forgot was in my laptop bag from last week. They can catch that **** with the new stuff, but missed my 3" pocket knife for over a year pre-Covid.
