Reading comprehension fail on my part...

United Club in C was holes and elbows, so much so they made an announcement to put your bags on the floor rather than in a seat.
Yeah, I did see that they took away access to Star Alliance lounges unless you are actually Gold+, but that won't help the IAH lounges at allJock 07 said:
The club card continues to provide access to 2 guests or a guest and dependents under 18.

Flying out tomorrow. Gate isn't assigned but it is a United flight to Mexico City so I assume E?
Oh and the Mexico City is by far the absolute worst airport I have ever been to. Signage was non existent, layover there was an intl flight and the staff almost wouldn't let me get on the train to my connecting flight because I didn't have a boarding pass but the airline wouldn't give me a boarding pass without stopping by the counter. Of course the guy checking boarding passes didn't speak English. Train ride was around 20 minutes. Thousands of people and lines hundreds of people deep. Really not looking forward to my connection there tomorrow.
Club Card fee is increasing from $525 to $695 also. That's a huge increase.gougler08 said:Yeah, I did see that they took away access to Star Alliance lounges unless you are actually Gold+, but that won't help the IAH lounges at allJock 07 said:

I went to the lounge in C last week and it was a zoo. Nowhere to sit, standing room only for the most part.
I assume you were connecting to a domestic Mexico flight? I can see how that would be a huge PITA, considering the domestic terminal is on the opposite side of the airport from the international terminal.Sea Speed said:

The United cards have gone the way of Amex, where it's basically a "coupon book" of BS that you have to navigate to mitigate the cost of the annual fee increase.
Pretty obnoxious.
I would just park at the A/B garage and go in to get her. They will likely not let you park your car and go in at the pickup area. Parking in the A/B garage for 0-3 hours is just $5.54 and is worth not coming back to a car with a ticket or in the process of being towed.TJaggie14 said:
Need some help/advice please.
Got a coworker picking up his 80 something yr old mother in-law at Terminal A this afternoon.
She's got 3 heavy checked bags.
He was wondering if he would be allowed to pull up in the passenger pickup, park the car, and go inside to assist. Is that possible, or will the traffic folks not allow that?
What's the best course of action? Thanks for your help

United Explorer card going from 95 to $150. That card is the primary supplier of day passes...that will make an impact I think. Suddenly, one trip with checked bag(s) doesn't or barely covers the fee.

Club is $525 to $695, but United is "excited" to offer more useless benefits to justify the increase.
I'm lucky, my Club fee is paid by my employer but hopefully these increases slow the pace a little.

Mine has been the last couple of years but probably harder to justify at $695, we'll see if my company changes the policy or not
