Mercer (19-18) beats Georgia, 5-2, in Athens.
Barbara's homer almost hit the building on the fly. In the last 16 games 22 players saw action including 5 pitchers and a lot of ABs for players who normally don't bat.
Without looking it up I think 6 pitchers saw action in that time
Would be nice if Sidne was available this weekend. I have assumed they were letting her rest/rehab since her spectator outing against Bama.
Seems like Grace may have been away on personal trip over the LMU weekend. Good to see her get action today
Lefty still seems to be going easy on whatever is going on with leg/ankle. She was great on Sunday so I would expect her to be on her usual Game 1 & 3 rotation this weekend but we need everyone ready to step up if she can't complete those games
Sidney was pretty off over the weekend but looked like she found her way back today.
Kate is still developing her game but I would be confident in making somewhere between an inning and 1 time through a SEC lineup
Emily is an wildcard to me. Trisha really talked her up after the fall. Some outings we have seen that growth others seem like she still lacks the command of her full array of pitches
This week has been good for the offense to gain or regain confidence. If we can get 3 days of good pitching we can steal back a game in the standings. With as tight as the standing look now even one extra win could mean a 4 or 5 place jump at the end of the season

Reading your post again I think you may have meant of 6 games instead of 16 which makes the 5 pitchers correct. I mistype all the time so no judgement on my part other than on me for not thinking critically to a poster who a long history on the softball threads

Interesting note
#17 Stanford scored a run in the bottom of the 10th to defeat St. Mary's College 5-4. At Stanford. Coach Ford is a graduate of St. Mary's and her first head coaching job was there.

I did mean these last 6 non-conference games. I'm sure the coaches hoped to play a lot of players. It was disappointing to see the Prairie View pitchers walking batters the last inning. I wanted to see the non-starters swing the bat.
