Well, I have to say I've never needed a knife for my wings.

Anybody ever go to Buffalo Wild Wings? I drove past earlier and it was dead. And I realized it's always dead when I go by at lunch time.

Speaking of wings, I had some great ones from Hot Dogs etc. For a quick drive through dinner, it's one of my favorites.

Tried Oishi at Jones Crossing today with the ex-boss. Was surprised at how good everything was. Ordered off the Chinese menu (in a technically Japanese place lol), and the food was as good as I've had here. Disappointed I haven't tried it sooner. The sushi bar and bar area looks cute and fun. The whole place is clean and has a real nice vibe.

Went there for lunch based on your rec. Tried the Diablo roll. Excellent.

I will be back and have several things I will try after talking with my waiter.

Thanks for the rec.

Oishi is our go to. Johnny (owner) and Shawn (his brother) are extremely friendly and very attentive to your tastes for sushi. Johnny's experience is from Los Angeles and Las Vegas sushi houses. He sources his fish from the same vendors he used to use in those locations. Also has a great Japanese bourbon collection.

We prefer it to Kanji for price and taste.

Whoa. I love Japanese whiskey. Thanks for mentioning that.

Tried Don Chente tonight for dinner. Salsa brought with the chips definitely seemed like pizza sauce but the salsa in the squeeze bottles was decent. Drinks, food and service were all good.

A number of taquerias only offer "gringo salsa" and you sometimes have to ask for the hot sauce. But it always exists!

The green is really good on eggs. The orange will light you up.

We ate dinner there last night. Totally agree about the salsa. Tasted like there was a lot of oregano in it. We asked for the squeeze bottles and enjoyed both. But the are very spicy. A little goes a long way.

My husband ordered 3 barbacoa tacos. Tacos don't come with any sides, so he asked for rice and beans. I'm not sure where communication broke down, but they put rice and beans on each taco instead of having them on the side. There were 3 of us and the bill was $40.

Mild salsa that's given out because they assume the gringos can't handle much heat. I've been to places in NYC where I've had to ask for the salsa the guys in the kitchen eat.

Most places it's red. Sometimes it's green because it's tomatillo.

Thanks. The place I would go in Flower Mound was red and it was good, but the really good one, that you had to ask for, was green. I also get green sauce with breakfast tacos.

Coco Loco and Polly's has an excellent spicy green sauce that you ask for. I don't think thee are any tomatillos in it, just jalapeƱos.

Polly's has both mild and spicy upon request. The top of my head starts sweating the second she puts the spicy green sauce down in front of me.

If you want something similar at home and don't want to attempt to make it yourself, this is pretty close. I get it at HEB.

I love the spicy green salsa at Polly's. My issue with the table salsa at Don Chente wasn't so much that it didn't have heat but that the flavor was far more Italian than I expected to the point that I would put on a pizza. It was strange.

Mi Tierra is my go to green salsa, but BCS has an abundance of riches in this salsa category.

Salsa should be one of the food groups. It defines the mom and pop shops.

Did you see my post above. Pretty much said the same thing. It would go best with pizza rolls.

I'm not sure I'm ever going back. Bad salsa is a show stopper for me.

We've been buying that stuff for years. It holds up to any restaurant green sauce.

Finally had Top of the Hill today. I ate the "hot mess" (I think). It had habanero sauce, jalepenos, pepper jack cheese. It was delicious.

Next week will try Edge general store.
