Looks like it has been eating good.
Discovered a nest of snakes burrowed under my house foundation. I want to say these are Eastern Yellow-Bellied Racers, several large and small. The cat has discovered them and has been trying to get them. The dogs haven't yet, but that's just a matter of time.
Any recommendations on permanent removal and sealing off the nest?

Thankfully didn't get the hound that was sniffing at him.
Cleaning up outside the ranch house for our dove hunts next week. Had an old Rtic soft cooler with a buster zipper on the back outdoor porch. Inside was a very aggressive smaller snake. Then found a second one with the weed eater. What kind of snake is this?
Not a snake, but this Black Witch moth paid me a visit this morning at dawn. Really cool, just appeared out of the dark like a ghost

Friend saw a timber and copperhead on their last visit but we didn't see anything at their place in the mountains of North Carolina. Saw a ton of these eastern fence lizards though

It's an aberrantly patterned diamondback and that person just killed a few hundred (potentially thousands) of dollars worth of snakes.
Got in a lovely argument on another forum I frequent yesterday on a cottonmouth ID. Although everyone will ID any brown/black/slithery snake as a cottonmouth, they instantly ID an actual cottonmouth as a water snake.

Lots of weirdos are into aberrant snakes like albinos, melanistics, different patterns, etc.
I figured they were just evolving again due to hogs.

Lots of people who breed snakes. 20 years ago, there were unique morph reticulated pythons at a reptile expo I went to in Dallas - they were asking $80k each. Wild morphs are sought after.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.
I'd imagine those babies would have fetched $200/piece pretty easily.

This is one of three that I always struggle with, but I believe it's a prairie king snake. Can someone confirm?
If not, it's a great plains rat snake or glossy snake like I posted on the previous page.
