There's a large commercial kitchen at the Phillips center and a large dining room.AggiePhil said:Surely the clubhouse has a restaurant space, no? I know it used to. That's what I assume Madden will be the chef over.Thisguy1 said:
There is nowhere for a restaurant to go at Phillips Event Center

As for comings and goings I'd love to see Cafe Capri with a South College Station presence. Don't think Rami would do it but something to challenge 1860 (which I also like) to a more affordable price point and more casual /cafe type would be great. Personally I think another Capri would be a slam dunk in that area. That said, it's entirely possible those rents may not allow Capri to stay on the "more affordable than 1860" side of price points

Luigi's Patio Ristorante to me is much better than both of them.

So exactly what it says it is, a COFFEE shop. Nothing more, nothing less.maroon barchetta said:

Used to wash my ride there when I was in high school in the 80s.PS3D said:Clucky said:It's a little surprising - that eyesore has been there almost 50 years I'd guess!PS3D said:

Yeah, old aerials seem to show that it may predate even the section of Villa Maria between Texas and College. The "tents" portion was added at some point in the 2000s.
I went to a bar once that didn't have beer taps. Everything was cans and everything was bud light. When the owner ran out of beer, he walked to the convenience store nearby and bought a couple more cases of bud light and then sold them for $2 each.maroon barchetta said:

There's a secret society of people living amongst us that are keeping Long John Silvers in business.

MyNameIsJeff said:$100/sf sounds pretty reasonable for what is probably a full gut and remodel including kitchen equipment.BQ_90 said:Damn, they must be hiring the same folks that build stuff for the athletic departmenttechno-ag said:

Kind of behind it, on Pavilion? A church building.

I want to know more about the target audience for this specific business model.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's located in a rural town in a "bar desert". It's basically a place where people can gather to drink beer with other like-minded folks.
It's not Brenham but yeah, it's a small town. These are a dime a dozen in small towns.halibut sinclair said:Sounds like an old place in Brenham called Otto's. I begrudgingly went into Kohl's yesterday and they have sectioned off the front central area of the store to put a Sephora in. I find it a little odd when Sephora just opened a location in Century Square.
