I would venture that it does not make sense to open too early in the summer due to lack of traffic. I would think they want to open several weeks before the start of the semester to work out all the kinks though...

Mister Hamburger was originally a TasteeFreez-type drive-in in Huntsville from the late '50s to the late '90s or maybe early 2000s. The sign stayed up for a few years even after they razed the old building. The Mathews family resurrected the name and some of the menu in the early '10s and copied the sign from old ads or photos. Eventually they tracked down the original and have it inside the new Huntsville store.
It's probably just nostalgia talking, but the new one has never been as good as the original.

Both of you have a point--there's no specific reason why Post Oak Mall is as bad as a shape as it's in, but CBL Properties is clearly not interested in investing in it.

Heard from a (very) reliable source that Chef Tai is involved with whatever is going to move in where Solt was. My probing yielded no more info then that, alas.
So another failed Chef Tai restaurant so he can open another project?
Kanji is doing fine and I'm guessing Urban Table is though it's not my jam. Still has his food truck. Knowing what I do about restaurants his batting average is higher than many.
Anyway I wish him well and look forward to learning more about what's to come.

Agreed - although a couple of other restaurant entrepreneurs in town have told me that the only person who doesn't lose $ in his entities is Tai …. That may be jealousy. There was never any way the construction cost of the Urban Table and its location were going to be successful. I was surprised it made it as long as it did. I would have bet on failure 18 months ago. Although its original timing may have made COVID era loans and grants helpful….

What's up with his food truck? I used to visit when he would set up in town. But doesn't he have some sort of exclusive contact with TAMU and only sets up on campus? I used to love it when I could grab dinner from his truck when he was at the parking lot in Tower Point.
