So with four other tackles on the roster now, Tytus is definitely playing guard right?

Remaining draft picks:

  • Round 6, Pick 179 (from Cleveland)
  • Round 6, Pick 216 (from Cleveland)
  • Round 7, Pick 236 (from Denver through Philadelphia and Washington)
  • Round 7, Pick 241
  • Round 7, Pick 255 (from Cleveland)

It is obvious the Texans went all in for getting CJ more weapons and protection which IMO is much more important since we won't make it deep in the playoffs if we can't score and CJ is running for his life. It's obvious that Dell is done unfortunately b/c he was a great weapon when healthy.

The CB pick to trade up was a head scratcher but Caserio and Ryans obviously felt he was worth it so who knows. Last year people were complaining about Lassiter and that turned out really well.

My prediction is Caserio will move up using those 5 remaining picks (thanks DeShaun!) b/c I can't see him taking 5 more players late in the draft.

I am trying to make sense of drafting the 2nd WR. Pretty full WR room. I am guessing with Dell out they wanted another shifty slot guy?

Collins
Higgins

Dell - injured

Just signed: Kirk, Berrios, Watson

Still have: Metchie, Hutchinson

Just drafted: Higgins and Noel

I am guessing a couple are getting cut.

If anything there is competition in camp for sure.

Honestly I could see Noel showing out in camp and Kirk getting cut late in camp because he's one of the more expensive of the bunch. Not that I want to see it but Kirk will definitely have to step up.

I think Hutchinson may be the odd man out. He had his opportunity last year and didn't do much.

Metchie is the worst of the bunch by far. He's got to be a cut at this point.

If there isn't a good prospect at a need position, I guess you stockpile guys who can help you move the ball. The Texans' offense was so bad at times last year, if you see a guy your OC is high on for the new system, I gues I'd rather draft him than an OL or DL that is a 25% shot to make the team.

I think he packages 2 or 3 of those picks to move into the 4th or 5th. We certainly don't need 5 JAGs who almost all will get cut.

5th DB is basically a starter in today's game, and ours aren't good. I'm not sure on the player, but definitely thought we needed another DB.

Agreed on trading. Can't see us adding 5 more rookies.

I don't understand NFL trades

Needed improvement at RB, seems like a versatile guy and love to hear at the Senior Bowl he was a plus in pass protection. That's the quickest way for rookie RB's to make an immediate impact in the field is understanding that to be able to even got on the field to showcase ball carrying skills

There's been a Dike and a Woody selected in the fourth round.

John Harris was so excited on the radio about the pick he could barely talk about it.

Don't care if he's a tu kid but to hang around the green room till day 3 and get drafted by the host team and all those fans is pretty damn rewarding

Given the Texans have 2 fourth rounders next year, I wonder if they use one to trade into the 5th this year.

Dell may be done for his career….. certainly won't see the field in 2025……

That trade up for a RB none of us has even heard of cost a third round pick next year. After the Noel pick Caserio lost his mind.

Texans trade up with the Dolphins in Round 4
Texans get: Nos. 116, 224

Dolphins get: No. 179, 2026 third-round pick

They have multiple 3rd round picks next year, and why does it matter if you have heard of him or not, they know him and see value.

Noel was all big-12 PR-KR, he's our new return guy.

Hopefully they can maximize him in the offense.

If Caserio hasn't earned your trust with his past moves, then I don't know what to tell you.

100%…he certainly has my trust, even when I questioned his picks of Lassiter and Bullock last year.

Sorry. Meant to direct that to Max.

I don't get trading up to get Mertz...

couldn't we have picked up a vet in FA or gotten him in the 7th or as a UFA? I could see trading up to get Ewers as a decent backup more then Mertz
Crispin Torque
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Graham Mertz in the 6th as a cost controlled backup. Guessing this will be the last year for Davis Mills.

In other news, we drafted an obscure DT

Actually I'm kind of happy with that for a 7th round pick. Very weird draft though

Just doesn't make a lot of sense compared to what the team needed.

Kinda scatter brained honestly.

Not sure, I'll need to go back through when I have time…pray for me, as it's my 9 year old daughter's birthday today and she wanted a slumber party.

But, from what I saw the movement seemed to cancel itself out in this draft. I'm good with the DB but not sure we needed to trade up to get him right after we traded down. I think Nick out smattered himself on the movement. But I do like what I've seen so far of the players I could dig into

Strongly disagree. I'd have liked to see a DT earlier, but our offense needed way more help than defense this year. Also glad we added a couple pieces to our secondary so guys like Jimmie Ward don't see the field anymore.
LincolnBorglum79
How long do you want to ignore this user?
It was a good draft based on what they needed. RB to complement Mixon check. a tall Wr with skills similar to Nico yes. A speedy slot WR with return abilities. Yes. An OT capable of replacing Tunsil. Eventually. Yes.
