Just finished an El Camino from Mojo. It was great and super filling. I will be back.

No no. That's now how foodies in this town run. All meals out must be less than $8, drink , tax and tip included. And you must be able to take half of it home for dinner.
Tacos are portable! Take it with you next time!

Wife and I went to 1860 for the first time the other night. Went early so there weren't many people in there so lots of empty tables but somehow they decided we needed to be in the side room next to the supply closet and cleaning cart. Kind of awkward having people come by us a few times to get more liquor or whatever else they needed out of that room. Took the waitress probably 10 minutes or so to greet us for the first time and give us a drink menu.
Overall food was really good and the service was as well outside of the initial wait. Would have been nice to sit in the main room for a $170 meal for 2. The whole experience just didn't feel right all from where they sat us.

We had a similar experience, and have not been back.
You can always ask to move.
Just be nice/professional about it, especially if it's not busy or overly packed.
I would certainly not expect seating like that unless it's slammed packed.

I wander if their policy is to start with the worst table unless the people coming in look loaded. The mindset that they know some people will just take it. Not realizing that they are turning potential quarterly repeat customers into one and dones.

Might be. Also, young folks that are hosts, etc. just don't think a lot of times as well.
Its also spreading out the waiter assignments
The put another table of two in there about 20 minutes after us. I thought maybe it was the small group room then they sat a party of 6 in there when we were finishing up.
What are the board's thoughts on Korean food here? Number one used to be Ohana but I'm really taken with Mong Chon lately.
I have only tried Ohana.

I love the banchan at Ohana. The owner is always so friendly and the food always terrific. And she always serves the best 'cinnamony' tea at the end of the meal.

I didn't realize Mojo Tortilla wasn't open for dinner and now I'm eating Burger King pretending it's a taco.

Wife and I just came back from MOJO. Excellent service, friendly staff, great food. Both dined for less than $25!

It's good. I got Covid there right before Christmas 2023, as did almost all in the group I was with. We all agreed it was worth it.
I had mojo for lunch today. Very good tacos full of flavor. The charro beans were excellent.

The pizza of the month for Double Dave's is a dill pickle pizza. It's damn good. I don't eat pizza that often. I wish I would have known how good it was. I would have gotten one for myself.

Kinderhill had a dill pickle pizza that was shockingly good. But it's a good place so not surprising. They might still have it.
Looking forward to one of you fine people to go check out the authentic italian restaurant the KBTX noted.

BJ's had a cheeseburger pizza years ago that had pickles on it. It was delicious
I haven't eaten there but Blake has made AMAZING food for Festa Italiana the last 3 years.
