if the Texans (4-5) take care of business vs. the Titans this week...
they will have a shot to get into the playoff chase vs. the Bills (6-3)
at this point the Texans have to catch either the Bills or Chiefs (5-4) in the standings
Losing to the Dolphins made the Bills suddenly really interesting. you would have assumed that would have given them a 3 game win streak before a pretty grueling part of their schedule - in the next 2 weeks they are home for Tampa, @ Houston, @ Pittsburgh. They also still have games left @ New England and home for Philly.
That's 5 games that could go either way. Their pushovers are home for Cincy, at Cleveland, and home for the Jets.
The Chiefs are @ Denver, home for Indy, @ Dallas, home for Houston, @ LAC, @ Ten, home for Denver, @ the Raiders. That's a little easier - I'm just going to assume the Texans can't beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead. That hasn't happened since 2019. How long ago was that? Carlos Hyde led the team i rushing and Darren Fells was the #1 receiver.
I still think there's a shot that Denver or LAC come tumbling down the standings. Although the Broncos have the tie-breaker over the Texans.
Still, so far they've won 5 games by 4 points or fewer, but still have KC twice, Green Bay, the Chargers, the Jags, at the Commanders, and at the Raiders.
The Chargers (7-3) finish with Jags, Raiders, Eagles, Chiefs, Cowboys, Texans, Broncos
In short, if the Texans can turn it around, that 12/27 games @ LA would get big in a hurry (TWSS).
Jaguars seem like a good candidate to start 4-1 and end up with double-digit losses. When is the last time that happened?
What would also be helpful would be for Pittsbugh to get its **** together and win the North because the Texans have the tie-breaker over the Ravens if they ended up with the same record.
