I think better coaching will solve a lot of problems. Various personalities have said that it didn't seem the line had a clue what they were doing last year.

Better scheme/coaching will certainly help. However, they made a decision to blow up the line from a personnel perspective (which was probably necessary), and as of yet, they've done a very underwhelming job of filling it back up. The three linemen they acquired by free agency/trade are below average starters, and there aren't many left in the draft who are likely to make an impact this season. Seems like they put a lot of faith in fixing things through the draft, and that sort of fell apart last night.

Again, there are several good interior guys still out there, but missing out on Booker, Jackson and Zabel hurts.

I want Luther Burden when they pick tonight, but he just doesn't seem like a locker room fit. Might be a little high, but Tate Ratledge fills the biggest need.

Will Johnson, Mike Green and Nick Emmanwori are all really good football players. Unfortunately, we already have really good football players at those positions.

Maybe not Luther Burden, came across this from another site and sounds like he might have the same issues that Sanders does

Yeah, I've heard the rumors about Burden. However, he has physical skills you can't teach. Not saying they should take him, but he might be worth the gamble in the second round. There is a noticeable drop in ability after him.

Tough call on Burden after reading that. Sounds a lot like Tunsil and they just them shipped him out.

I think you'd have to look at that WR room and the offensive leadership overall and be confident guys like Nico and Stroud can take him under their wing and get him straight.

I feel like DeMeco is focused on guys with the right mindset for the team, kind of like Dan in Detroit. Not saying we won't take a flyer on Burden, but I just don't feel like DeMeco will spend a 2nd round pick on a guy that doesn't seem to want to work hard when he's not under the lights.

Interesting comparison. The problem with Tunsil was that he was the "captain." Other guys were following his lead. If Burden is drafted, you already have Nico and Kirk in the receiver room. If you have a good culture, you might be able to keep him on the right track.

I would be just fine with rolling the dice on him, BUT I doubt the Texans do it. My guess is TreVeyon Henderson.

I'm almost certain they will package up some threes to move into the second. My prediction:

RB Henderson
G Ratledge
WR K. Williams

Not ideal, but all three guys would contribute next season.

Very sad, but also heart warming that she got to experience her son realizing his dreams with him even for just a little bit before she passed.

Warren Moon presented Cam Ward with the #1 jersey today and "is allowing" him to wear it. ****ing gross.

That's a stat right there
Quote:

29%(!) of his targets were on go routes last year. They threw 42 of them at him, but only 16 were catchable (he caught all of them).

Out of every receiver in this draft class, he had the third-most incompletions because of bad throws from the quarterback. And even with that, he still put up 87-1183-9TD last year.

This mock has us taking Savaiinaea out of Arizona (guard) with our top pick in the 2nd.

CBS says Scourton.

This is again where it gets crazy, everyone's player ratings are all over the place

NFL.com compares Burden to Garrett Wilson. I'd take that.

Scourton would be a dumb pick, and that is not a slight on him as a player, just not a true need…this is where I question the rest of his mock based on this pick for the Texans and their glaring needs at a couple of positions.

That's weird that your device autocorrected 'Has a good trainer that doesn't overtrain him' to that.

Great pick. I have a feeling Burden's character concerns were legit

Is the 4.47 time legit? 6'4" and 210 at that time…nice!

I can't believe we didn't take him at 25 now. Excited about this one!

Christian Kirk is gonna be open a lot with Nico Collins lined up at both WR spots. This was a steal.

Highlights don't look that fast, but 4.47 pretty good at 6'4" 215

I guess CJ and out front office love big receivers

I don't know a thing about Tyler Shough. But i laugh each time another QB comes off the board before Sanders.

Maybe it's a league-wide FU to Deion and there' a gentleman's agreement that whoever wants him sign him as a free agent.
