Better scheme/coaching will certainly help. However, they made a decision to blow up the line from a personnel perspective (which was probably necessary), and as of yet, they've done a very underwhelming job of filling it back up. The three linemen they acquired by free agency/trade are below average starters, and there aren't many left in the draft who are likely to make an impact this season. Seems like they put a lot of faith in fixing things through the draft, and that sort of fell apart last night.Texan_Aggie said:

Maybe not Luther Burden, came across this from another site and sounds like he might have the same issues that Sanders doesSnake Jazz said:Better scheme/coaching will certainly help. Again, there are several good interior guys still out there, but missing out on Booker, Jackson and Zabel hurts.
I want Luther Burden when they pick tonight, but he just doesn't seem like a locker room fit. Might be a little high, but Tate Ratledge fills the biggest need.
Will Johnson, Mike Green and Nick Emmanwori are all really good football players. Unfortunately, we already have really good football players at those positions.
I feel like DeMeco is focused on guys with the right mindset for the team, kind of like Dan in Detroit. Not saying we won't take a flyer on Burden, but I just don't feel like DeMeco will spend a 2nd round pick on a guy that doesn't seem to want to work hard when he's not under the lights.Ag_07 said:
Tough call on Burden after reading that. Sounds a lot like Tunsil and they just them shipped him out.
I think you'd have to look at that WR room and the offensive leadership overall and be confident guys like Nico and Stroud can take him under their wing and get him straight.
Interesting comparison. The problem with Tunsil was that he was the "captain." Other guys were following his lead. If Burden is drafted, you already have Nico and Kirk in the receiver room. If you have a good culture, you might be able to keep him on the right track.Ag_07 said:

Derrick Harmon’s mom, who was on life support, passed away shortly after he went to the hospital and got to tell her he had been drafted by the Steelers.

Very sad, but also heart warming that she got to experience her son realizing his dreams with him even for just a little bit before she passed.cupcakesprinkles said:

If you want to buy low-ish on a receiver prospect that was way less productive in college than he will be in the NFL with pro-caliber QB play, here's a nutty Jayden Higgins stat.

29%(!) of his targets were on go routes last year. They threw 42 of them at him, but only 16 were…

Out of every receiver in this draft class, he had the third-most incompletions because of bad throws from the quarterback. And even with that, he still put up 87-1183-9TD last year.
This is again where it gets crazy, everyone's player ratings are all over the placeFaustus said:

May he have exactly as much playoff success as Warren Moon did!Jackal99 said:
Warren Moon presented Cam Ward with the #1 jersey today and "is allowing" him to wear it. ****ing gross.

I don't know a thing about Tyler Shough. But i laugh each time another QB comes off the board before Sanders.
