if the Texans are going to miss the playoffs...they at least need to get a top 10 pick
right now would have the 12th or 13th pick
no bueno

Was there a general sense or feeling in the offseason that the OL was going to be much improved this year? I don't think you can magically fix OL during the season. It seems this season is going about as it was expected to go: poorly. I don't think Mixon would have changed the season outlook very much.

Seems like they need to use high draft capital (and hit on it) for OL and go out in FA for better OL. There's been some bad eval and bad luck with drafted OL as well as bad luck with OL injury. GM and HFC can share some blame, but I still really want DeMeco to succeed.

Clearly need to do something but the problem is they've already used a ton of draft capital in the OL (a first and 3 2nds in the last 4 drafts). That should be the backbone of a good line but instead we have virtually nothing to show for those picks. They don't seem to have any idea how to identify OL talent. That's why I said earlier that I hope they just spend money in free agency. We can't afford any more Greens, Scruggs, Fishers, etc.

Good point. Poor evaluations at the OL position with this current regime. I like Ersery thus far but time will tell on him.

Adonai has sucked in Indy, but has had some bad breaks.
The Colts saw their defense get majorly exposed by an over-the-hill QB in Rodgers. They have a lot of theoretically much tougher offenses coming up - Chiefs, Seahawks, Jags twice, Texans twice if Cj is healthy at some point. They understand their defense is a weak point, and with the AFC so topsy-turvy this year, they must recognize there's an open window to get the #1 playoff spot and never have to leave a Dome til the Super Bowl.
Also seems to speak volumes about how much Aaron Glenn's voice matters in NY to lose a premiere player at his position. Jets-Browns this week somehow just got worse than it was this morning.

Jets won this one. Sauce is the most overrated player in the NFL.

We gave them crap at the time, but the Tunsil trade might have been the best OL move in the past decade for the franchise.

Can't blame stalled drives on his false starts anymore.

back to the Colts trade...
Indy's 1st round pick in 2026 might be #29 or #30 or so -- not necessarily a big loss

I guess Jaylon Jones doesn't play much for the Colts anymore? Their starters were better than Jaylon, yet so bad they needed to make a deadline deal for Sauce.

Nope. But others have certainly stepped up to fill that void.

That and there wasn't much trading of offensive positions. Texans don't need any defensive pieces that are glaring. I don't blame them for sitting pat.
Was the last big trade at the deadline we had Demarius Thomas? Generally these are underwhelming because it takes a bit to learn the new system.
