If you can't prove you didn't show up because you were working somewhere else to make ends meet, which I totally understand, I think that would be more than fair.

This entire thing was bull***** Everyone who gets on a plane on a revenue ticket pays $5.60 each way to pass through security. The government didn't stop collecting that fee. They just decided to use paying people to deliver a service that is directly paid by the user of the service as a negotiating point for something completely unrelated.

It was nice to see Trump slap down the house republicans who based their entire primary campaigns on how well they ride the MAGA dick.

I have a hard time faulting people making $40,000 per year making the decision to drive for Uber or DoorDash to generate some income when they're not getting paid by their day job. This was all Congress's fault, and there won't be any consequences at all because both sides are content to think their side can do no wrong.

They aren't working for free. They receive back pay once the funding is approved.

But as another poster pointed out, if you're working one of these jobs, you likely don't have sufficient savings to cover the absence of a routine paycheck.

Agreed. What Musk could possibly do in the future instead is offer zero interest loans in the amount of their paycheck to the people not getting paid since he has XMoney launching soon. Terms would be 15 day balance payoff after shutdown ends. If they don't repay, charge them interest.

Possibly an avenue for him to explore next time if we get in this bull**** pickle.

I went through security this morning at Terminal E, 30 minutes from walking in to being on the secure side. Stark difference from last week. It did not appear that more scanning stations were open however there were more ID stations open.

Just went through E in less than 10 minutes

Shoes on, belt off, Electronics in bag, jackets off for some reason. Never seen that before but yeah NOT BAD AT ALL.

Got here 5 hours early and was at the gate in less than 30 minutes after dropping off rent car and taking the shuttle etc

C Is Not open. Thats a huge myth. Literally sitting Here in C right Now and there's no Security screening occuring. Not even flight crews.

50 TSA folks were sent midweek to help in Houston and 10 went to IAH and 40 went to Hobby; we know that is bullsh*t!
