I think it is possible both that Epstein realized his life was ruined and he was a marked man, and also that the previous administration ensured that certain evidence was never gathered or was not documented and permanently converted into carbon residue. What remains very likely is only the creeper pedo stuff to ensure Epstein would not talk or turn, and that is never made public by policy.

Leavitt's response to Doocy today is pretty telling of how they are going to handle this….Obscure the question, deflect to the DOJ for further answers, and praise DOJ/FBI for work they are doing to bring down crime.
Hopefully Doocy and others stay on this but we'll see. I don't think the independent guys like Tucker Carlson will ever let this go but not sure if it matters at this point.
